Our project strengths
The LAFA K-Feldspar Project stands out with a unique combination of factors ensuring its success and sustainability. Our approach is focused on leveraging these strengths for optimal resource extraction and market delivery.
Prime location
Located just 35km from Berbera Port and alongside a major sealed road, LAFA boasts efficient access to transport infrastructure and export routes, ensuring seamless logistics.
Solid foundations
With an approved mining lease and robust backing from local communities and the Somaliland government, LAFA operates on a secure and supportive framework.
Exceptional reserves
Testing confirms top-quality K-feldspar and extremely large extractable deposit starting at surface level, guaranteeing a significant and sustainable supply.
Ready for production
Mine preparation and extraction design solutions are already in place, coupled with locally available equipment, enabling immediate production and swift market entry.

THE LAFA PROJECT
The LaFa Project is a high-grade K-feldspar development located in Somaliland’s Red Sea Corridor, combining exceptional mineral quality with strong infrastructure access and near-term production readiness.
World-Class Feldspar Resource
LaFa hosts one of the largest known high-grade pegmatitic K-feldspar deposits, featuring a consistent white colour and an ideal chemical composition for ceramics, tiles, tableware, glass manufacturing, and high-end glazes.
High Purity & Performance
Testing confirms high potassium and alumina content with very low iron and quartz levels, making the material well suited for premium ceramic and glass applications.
Strategic Location & Logistics
The project is located approximately 35 km from the deep-water Port of Berbera (17 m draught), with direct access via a major sealed road. The port operates multiple weekly shipping routes to Europe, the Middle East, and South Asia and is managed by DP World.
Fully Permitted & Shovel-Ready
The project holds a granted mining license, signed local agreements, successful trial mining results, and strong offtake interest. Its mountain-side location supports a low strip ratio and efficient extraction.
Sustainability & Community
LaFa maintains strong local community support, a minimal ecological footprint, and no identified environmental red flags.
Unlocking potential
LAFA is more than a mining operation; it's a commitment to responsible resource development. We are dedicated to maximising the potential of Somaliland's K-Feldspar, creating lasting benefits for all stakeholders and contributing to the region's prosperity.
